Hello, I am Josefina

The woman behind Gracefully Healthy Living.

After turning sixty, I realized that true health isn’t just about diet or exercise. It’s about feeling good in every part of life. Simple habits like walking, mindful eating and daily self-care have helped me stay strong, positive and full of energy.

I’m still on this journey myself, learning what works and what doesn’t. My own experience of finding balance and embracing the changes that come with age made me want to share what I’ve discovered, not as an expert, but as someone walking this path right alongside you.

I believe that growing older can be a beautiful stage of life. With steady habits, a healthy mindset and genuine encouragement, we can feel more confident and vibrant than we ever imagined.

Walking Has Become My Daily Anchor

Walking isn’t just exercise for me, but a way to reconnect with myself. Moving at my own pace, breathing fresh air, and enjoying the world around me has helped me rebuild strength, confidence and joy.

I walk nearly ten kilometres a day now, and each step reminds me that we are capable of so much more than we think. Especially when we take it slowly and consistently.

In 2023, I completed the Nijmegen Four Days Marches for the first time. This incredible event, known as the Walk of the World, brings together 47,000 walkers from around the globe to walk through Nijmegen and its beautiful surroundings for four consecutive days.

I’ve now completed it three times, in 2023, 2024 and 2025, and I’m already looking forward to the next one. It’s proof that our bodies are capable of so much more than we think, especially when we build strength gradually and keep showing up.

Finding Beauty in Everyday Life

Beyond walking, I find peace and creativity in arranging flowers. Arranging flowers is one of my favorite forms of self-care. There’s something special about bringing nature into my home, selecting stems and greenery, and creating something beautiful with my hands. It’s a form of self care that reminds me to slow down and appreciate the small moments.

Choosing colors, placing stems, and creating something beautiful with my hands helps me slow down, reflect, and appreciate small moments of peace.

Bringing nature into my home reminds me that beauty doesn’t have to be big or loud — sometimes it’s a single flower on the table that brightens your whole day.

Nourishing Myself Through Simple, Healthy Cooking

Cooking has always been a way for me to take care of myself and the people I love.
I enjoy preparing meals that are wholesome, simple, and full of fresh ingredients. There’s something deeply satisfying about creating food that fuels my body and keeps my energy steady throughout the day.

I don’t believe in complicated recipes or strict diets — just mindful cooking that supports wellness and brings joy back into eating.
Whether I’m trying a new soup, simmering something warm on the stove, or preparing vegetables from the local market, these small rituals help me feel grounded, creative, and connected to my daily life.

For me, cooking isn’t just about food.

It’s a gentle act of self-care that nourishes both body and soul.
